Curious, indeed...

So...I happened to get the opportunity to read an early draft(2007) of the script for Tim Burton's new Alice in Wonderland movie. I know I've complained about it before in the past, but since then I've sort of forgotten about it until now, and I must say, my morbid curiosity leads me to do things such as this.

It's not that bad. It reminds me a tiny bit of The Looking Glass Wars, but that's all I'll say about it. I'm sure quite a bit has changed, as it's been 2 years since the script I read was written, but if most of it is still the same, then, I might actually go to the movie theatre to see this(I'm not a big fan of movie theatres >_> ).

I, myself, won't redistribute the script, and I won't publicly answer questions about it, but feel free to ask anything in notes or on AIM or something.

I'm working on drawings. I've been in a bit of a block lately, and will only work on things in small chunks in a day, but that's about it. I'm just afraid of ruining things, so I'm working on them slowly.

I like the screenwriter. She writes for musical theater as well as film and I love every project she's worked on (Including my favorite American show.) so I have high hopes for AiW. Personally, I think if something is to go wrong it will be with the massive amounts of CGI Tim Burton is using rather than the screenplay.

Just to understand what you meant above; did you like The Looking Glass Wars?

Yes, I like the book very much. There are bits in the script that remind me of it, and it makes me wonder if they had it in mind >.<

What I've read has made me hope the actual visuals are as good as, if not better than, what I saw in my head. Nowadays CGI can be blended with reality quite well, and with Tim's art style it appears as though it will work out nicely.

I had a feeling that it was going to be a cross between looking glass wars and WCMI. But that's just a guess...

It does have it's own sense of originality, but I really do get a Looking Glass Wars meets WCMI vibe from it XD
